Bookkeeper Job in Nassau County Bar Association

The Nassau County Bar Association is seeking a part-time Bookkeeper to maintain the financial records for Nassau County Bar Association, Nassau Bar Foundation and Nassau Academy of Law. This is a part-time position requiring 25 hours per week.
Duties
Manage accounts payable and receivables in timely fashion
Process intercompany billings
Make journal entries
Prepare and make weekly bank deposits
Process biweekly payroll via ADP for approximately 17 employees
Reconcile monthly bank and credit card statements
Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws
Manage grant budgets
Maintain sales tax records and file quarterly payments
Handle annual filing for property tax and biannual renewal applications for state liquor license
Process 401k Plan contributions and file annual IRS Form 5500
Manage insurance claims and oversee annual renewals
Handle employees’ health insurance enrollments
Communicate with vendors and service providers
Prepare monthly P&L report and balance sheet for Executive Director and Board of Directors
Create annual budgets
Work with accountant to prepare for annual audit
Handle other special projects as assigned by Executive Director
Required Skills
College degree in accounting or finance plus three years’ experience as a bookkeeper (or five+ years’ equivalent experience without college degree)
Nonprofit experience desired
High attention to detail
Must be able to multitask
Strong technical proficiency in QuickBooks, Sage 50 and MS Excel, Outlook, and Word
Excellent written communication skills

Experience:
Bookkeeping: 3 years (Preferred)
