Business Intelligence Analyst Job in St Lawrence Health

Under the direction of the Director, Business Intelligence and Program Management, the Business Intelligence Analyst will efficiently and effectively identify, translate, and manage customer needs into actionable business and technical requirements necessary for deploying Business Intelligence solutions. This position requires a mastery of skills needed to implement advanced strategies for gathering, reviewing, and analyzing data requirements; developing business use cases; the ability to prioritize requirements and create conceptual prototypes and mock-ups; define strategic business process modelling, traceability, and quality management techniques; the ability to develop data visualizations with associated paths for analysis; apply best practices for effective communication and problem-solving. This role will primarily support Business Intelligence solutions across the organization. This will include Dimensional Insight, SQL, and IT Systems and technologies related to Business Intelligence processes as assigned. The Business Intelligence Analyst will possess solid working knowledge of the subject matter, will work under general supervision, and will be able to handle moderately complex issues and problems.

SCHEDULE: 8 hours variable

50% Business Intelligence Requirement Analysis

Leverage strong analytical and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, resolve problems and present appropriate business solutions and recommendations.
· Assist with assigned business case creation and justification · Planning and Monitoring; Elicit and Define requirements for assigned projects through interaction with Operational owners and through self-guided research

Organize, anticipate, simplify and translate requirements to effectively communicate and coordinate solution development with operational and technical stakeholders
Verify Requirements to advance stakeholder objectives through analysis, test, demonstration and inspection
Manage Requirements through formal review, approval, and acceptance sessions. Align project schedules, costs, duration estimates and measure business objective outcomes and benefit.
Support Change Management and Data Governance Processes through requirement analysis, impact assessment, and risk mitigation to ensure organizational source of truth.
Demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills with proven ability to facilitate cross functional teams ranging from executive to staff level employees.
Act as Subject Matter Expert for the following systems: Dimensional Insights, various SQL environments, other Business Intelligence tools and development processes as assigned.
Generate reports, data files, queries, sub-queries, nested queries, and SQL statements using Meditech and SQL tools (NPR, M-AT, Report Designer, Data Repository, SQL Studio), DI, and additional tools as assigned
Use statistical methods to interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and generate reports/dashboards based on user requests
Ability to analyze business procedures and recommend specific types of data allowing business owners to review workflow

50% Business Intelligence Visualization and Development

Perform Business Intelligence System development and maintenance including extract, transform, load, measure development, dashboard visualization and self-service ad hoc analysis solutions for end users.
Prevent and correct Business Intelligence system defects; develop approved enhancements and changes intended to increase the value provided by the system, operations and maintenance
Provide system validation procedures, maintenance reports, deactivation plans, and other documents, plans and reports to ensure continuity of data visualizations and analysis processes.
Devise and implement control systems to collect and analyze data and/or develop alternate tools for measuring performance

Required: Bachelor Degree (Computer Science, Healthcare Information Technology, Data Management, or Business Discipline)
Preferred: Master’s Degree (Computer Science, Healthcare Information Technology, Data Analytics, Business Administration)

Work Experience:

Minimum of 2 – 5 years of experience in Healthcare Informatics or related business setting, providing data analytics and business intelligence development support to users at all levels of an organization
