Director, AML Transaction Monitoring

The Director of AML Investigations will own the global AML Transaction Monitoring team, including strategy, to enhance and the Transaction Monitoring Program.

What You’ll Be Doing

Run the development of models involving tuning, calibration, segmentation, and optimization
Coordinate with regional Intelligence and Analytics teams to implement on the global model
Work across functional teams to ensure effective and efficient operations with clearly defined roles and responsibilities
Identify KRIs, critical metrics, and other indicators to evaluate the activity, performance, and efficiency of your service
Supervise the implementation of tools and processes to sustain our exponential growth
Ensure the constant compliance of transactions, and report suspicious transactions and activities to the relevant Financial Intelligence Units
Proactively participate in the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing as well as payment fraud
Support compliance monitoring, regulatory reporting, and participating in the drafting and improvement of procedures
Accountable for the design and development of infrastructural transaction monitoring solutions, leading data analysis and model development processes, defining model and rules deployment and management procedures
Responsible for quality and speed of execution of the Transaction Monitoring team’s roadmap and to resolve the best strategy to achieve company goals related to transaction monitoring
Work with internal partners to support new product launches and expansion plans
Develop policies and procedures for AML transaction supervising life cycle, including reviews of scenario validation, segmentation, and optimization tools

About You

Familiarity in implementing, testing, or evaluating the performance of financial crime and compliance systems
Consistent record of strong quantitative testing and statistical analysis techniques as it pertains to BSA/AML models, including name similarity matching, classification accuracy testing, unsupervised/supervised machine learning, neural networks, fuzzy logic matching, decision trees, etc
Experience talking to banking regulators and enforcement staff
Thorough understanding of an effective financial crimes risk management framework
Demonstrated ability to run multiple projects simultaneously
Validated managerial skills vital to successfully administer core support and critical regulatory relationship function within a diverse organization and effectively coordinate between multiple businesses and support units
The ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization, including Bank staff, management, directors, and prudential regulators
Ability to work autonomously and initiate and prioritize own work
Experience of leading the NY DFS Part 504 Final Rule
You enjoy working with other business functions and making sure you’re heard
You’re enthusiastic about collaborating in the development of cutting edge AI tools and technology (e.g. deep learning, CNN etc)
You have a strong appetite for the Fintech domain
You’re familiar with control environments and their challenges
Ideally, you have previous experience in project management
You’re a proactive person and have a good sense of organization
