SPS is seeking an experienced Event Manager at our client site, Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace that will have oversight and coordination of all programming logistics for Flipper’s brand and community activations. This role is unlike a typical events programming role because of the unique dynamic that makes Flipper’s – we are part skating rink, part hospitality, part nightlife, and, yes, retail, too! You’ll be challenged to oversee a diverse range of programming from DJ residencies, special one-off large-scale events, and events for families and beyond.
Managing all on-site event logistics including activation set up, greeting talent, and liaising with rink staff. Serving as an ambassador for Flipper’s and representative amongst the skate community. Brainstorming event ideas based on the success of prior programming, the cadence of rink attendance, and local cultural calendars. Liaising with sponsors on all event logistics to bring to life the desired activations and sharing detailed updates. Researching, booking, and negotiating with vendors and event partners to help create a dynamic programming calendar. Sourcing and booking talent based on event needs and managing talent relations by providing their teams with detailed schedules, information, and social assets for promotion. Partner with Flippers’ Rink GM and operations teams to ensure seamless execution, relating to events. Creating detailed documents to help the seamless execution of events from the run of shows to handover sheets. Partner with marketing to create assets and ensure the strategic promotion of all events – internally + externally. Manage budget and invoicing to ensure programming objectives are met.
5+ years in event programming + production in the hospitality and/or nightlife industry OR previous events experience at an agency or brand. Strong communication, both in-person and through modern tools and platforms. Entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to adapt quickly – willing to execute and roll up your sleeves, not just manage. Resilience, tenacity, high energy. Able to rapidly bounce back from adversity. Comfort operating in non-hierarchical cultures while navigating more traditional ones simultaneously. Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
