Job Summary: The floor store team member has multiple tasks and responsibilities to full fill. Carrying product out for customer’s and loading vehicles will be a primary task. CountryMax offers a free carry out service that every floor store team member is expected to provide. The floor team member will work primarily in the store. The floor team member will also work in a warehouse environment. Safety is extremely important when working in the warehouse. The floor store team member will be expected to provide top notch helpful CountryMax service.
CountryMax Overview: Beginning in 1984 as a small farm supply and feed store owned by the Payne family, CountryMax has grown into one of western New York State’s biggest success stories. CountryMax now operates 16 locations spanning from Buffalo to just north of Binghamton, and employs over 300 team members, a number that continues to grow each year. Over time the product offering as well as store size has increased dramatically- in addition to farm and feed supplies, CountryMax is now a one-stop shop for all lawn and garden products, pet supplies, small pets, clothing and backyard wild bird feeding. CountryMax customers have come to rely on a level of service, pricing, and small-town feel in a way that larger stores cannot replicate- yet they also enjoy the benefits of CountryMax’s extensive purchasing power and flexibility that typically tips the scales between the “big-boxes” and independents.
Position Outline: The floor store team member is a key position in the store. The floor store team member will receive hands on education in the store. Working in the store and the warehouse the floor team member will learn about the wide range of products and merchandise that CountryMax offers. After proper education the floor team member will learn to fill propane tanks and to operate the forklift and other heavy equipment. The essential job functions include (but are not limited to) are:
Provide top-notch CountryMax helpful service, including carrying out any and all products for customers and patrons
After proper training the floor team member may need to operate Point of Sale terminals and handle financial transactions
On truck days’ work as a team to quickly and efficiently stock all of the product
As a team keep the store presentable and clean- Includes store maintenance & merchandising
Position Requirements:
The floor store team member will primarily work in the store and at times in the warehouse
Previous experience in a retail environment is preferred but not required
Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs.
Past experience operating a forklift or working in a warehouse environment is a plus
Must be able to stand on your feet for up to 12 hours or during the store’s operating hours
Helpful service and keen social skills are a must
Ability to work as a team in a retail atmosphere
