Joel E. Smilow Clubhouse – Bronx, NY
John E Grimm III Clubhouse – Bronx, NY
This is a part-time position working 25 hours a week Monday through Friday in the afternoon and evening.
The Girls Youth Group Advisor will be responsible for planning, organizing, conducting and evaluating programs, activities and events of the SMART Girls program and providing individual mentoring and referrals as needed.
Girls Youth Group Advisor Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Facilitate weekly mentorship meetings in safe setting with girls ages 10-12 to address health and social issues unique to them, and build the necessary skills to resist negative influences such as drugs, alcohol and premature sexual activity.
Deliver fun and engaging programming for girls ages 10-12 to encourage healthy attitudes and lifestyles that will enable adolescent/teen girls to develop to their full potential.
Thoroughly evaluate SMART Girls, ensuring that all tracking & measurement documentation is completed in a timely manner.
Monthly reporting of program statistics/metrics.
Girls Youth Group Advisor Required Skills/Knowledge:
College degree preferred from a state-accredited university or college and a minimum of two years’ experience in a related field.
Ability to communicate effectively with young people from diverse backgrounds, ages 6-18 as well as a range of other organizational personnel in a courteous and professional manner.
Highly motivated and dedicated to the organizational mission.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Proven track of engaging youth in a responsible and mature manner.
