FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION
The basic function of General Supervisor is to oversee the company’s production to ensure employee safety, company profitability, employee morale is good, and that company equipment is cared for and maintained in conjunction with industry standards, codes and Company policy.
Maintaining quality, on-time delivery and customer support to all customers.
The General Supervisor will be accountable for production efficiencies in the performance of their company duties. The General Supervisor will facilitate and assist with the Production Supervisors as necessary to bring production in efficiently and on time.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP
The General Supervisor reports directly to and is fully accountable to the Vice President of Operations.

EXPERIENCE
· Required: 5-7 years’ experience as supervisor in a manufacturing environment
· Experience with various operations associated with tube production.
· Skills for leadership and motivation in a team environment.
· Skills to train entry level workers.
PHYSICAL
· The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
· BODY POSITIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and/or walk.
· BODY MOVEMENTS: The employee must have a full range of body movements including use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, and equipment; and the ability to bend, reach, stretch, crouch, crawl, kneel, and/or climb.
· BODY SENSES: Must have command of all five senses, sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. These vision requirements in each area must be sufficient to shift in focus from plans to jobsite and depth perception.
· STRENGTH: Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds.
· The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, but can be higher
· This position will be working in both the office and plant. The employee will encounter varying temperatures. The normal auto travel hazards will apply. Travel will be in all types of weather including heavy rain and below freezing temperatures with snow conditions.
· The employee may be exposed to work near moving parts and/or machinery in the plant.
AUTHORITY
The General Supervisor is authorized to take any reasonable action necessary to carry out the responsibilities assigned so long as such action does not deviate from established corporate policy and is consistent with sound business judgment
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties and responsibilities of the General Supervisor include, but are not limited to:
· Establish detail work sequences for the completion of production work orders for products in accordance with production control schedules and customer requirements.
· Coordinate with the Production Supervisors, for the deployment of resources to meet production objectives.
· Coordinate communication and work schedule between shifts.
· Constantly strive to meet and exceed efficiency standards.
· Liaison between company and customers concerning quality and delivery.
· Coordinate overtime work planning for production.
· Provide work center set-up guidance and quality checks as needed.
· Enforce Company policies and procedures, especially regarding ISO requirements including safety, production work practices, quality standards, and work attendance of production workers normally assigned to the area.
· Provide individual and group training for workers in procedures for production.
· Ensure production administrative procedures are followed for recording labor time and personal time authorizations.
· Exercise approval authority for personal time absence requests by production workers.
· Provide performance reviews to the Vice President of Operations. Participate in performance review discussions for production workers.
· Consult with and recommend to Management necessary disciplinary actions. Participate in disciplinary discussions and actions.
· Run production when necessary to meet schedule attainment.
· Provide overall leadership while creating a work environment based upon the goals and objectives defined by Management as stated in our Quality Policy.
· Support the VP of Operations in the management of the Manufacturing process
· Manage and maintain production work procedures and workplace safety practices.
· Ensure that customer quality requirements are met or exceeded.
· Coordinate and suggest improvements as to the company’s overall quality practices and manufacturing procedures.
· Ensure that Progressive Discipline is administered consistently, equitably and effectively.
· Perform necessary maintenance.
· Read customer prints.
· Safely operate the forklift.
· Understand the use and application of measurement devices.
· Accomplishes all tasks as appropriately assigned or requested.
· Oversee the logistical part of the supply chain management.
· Present Operational Statistics and participate in monthly meeting discussions including making recommendations for corrective action and continuous improvement action items.

PERFORMANCE MEASURES
The General Supervisor shall be deemed to be performing in an acceptable manner when the following have been accomplished:
· Meets or betters established deadlines and schedules, and CONSTANTLY STRIVING FOR TOTAL CUSTOMER SATISFACTION.
· Supports the Company and the Production & Materials Manager with accurate and timely information and reports.
· Manufacturing processes are being operated in an ethical and prudent manner.
· Successfully manage the responsibilities involved as assigned including but not limited to scheduling of production work, workers, and meeting all quality and safety standards.
· Meeting all delivery schedules with quality product.
· Meeting and improving efficiencies throughout plant.
· All employees reporting to the General Supervisor have been properly trained and instructions given in a clear manner and are understood.
· A perception that the Company is functioning as a team and morale is high.
· Each employee reporting to him/her have had at least one performance evaluation and review within the past year.
· Customer satisfaction is equal to or higher than historical levels.
· Meeting or exceeding efficiency and quality goals of the Company.
· Successfully enable Company Goals to be met or exceeded including but not limited to Safety, Attendance, Efficiency, Quality PPM, Customer On-Time Delivery, WIP Scrap, Rework, etc

Pay: $55,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
