Office Assistant Job in India Home

Job Description
India Home is looking for a part-time Office Assistant. The Office Assistant will support India Home’s administrative location in Jamaica Estates on weekends and evenings. The position entails closely working with India Home staff and leadership to run administration and development functions and ensure smooth running of our main office.
General Responsibilities
Under supervision of Program Director, coordinates programs and activities at the India Home during weekend
Assists with administrative and clerical tasks required in routine operation of the Senior Center.
May provide case assistance and referral information as deemed appropriate.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares monthly activities calendar for weekend, information materials, and flyers of the senior center programs.
Attends community and staff meetings as designated.
Answers in-person and telephone inquiries and acts as troubleshooter, referring calls as required.
Assembles and records statistical data.
Types letters, reports, flyers and other printed materials, as needed.
Engage existing donors through mailed and phone correspondence, as needed.
Outreach to nearby houses of worship and organizations to promote India Home senior center programs
Places orders with food vendors and other suppliers.
Assists in maintaining inventory of food and supplies.
May assist in preparation and serving of meals.
Assists Program Director in developing appropriate group programs.
Provides coverage on participant trips.
4 yrs Degree preferred.
Must be computer literate, including ability to learn and use program specific software.
Ability to communicate both spoken and written English.
Knowledge of South Asian languages.
Required to work evenings and weekends as assigned by Program Director.
Driving is required.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $25.00 per hour
