Structured Solution and Strategic Origination (SSSO) is part of the Gas and Power Trading Americas organization that serves clients risk management needs across the Americas. SSSO offers risk management solutions to clients in natural gas and crude oil supporting growth opportunities in natural gas liquids, chemicals, power, and refined products, and low carbon solutions to create one face to the Americas market.The role of the SSSO Marketing Analyst will:

Assist with day-to-day operational activities in support of deal trading execution and administration to ensure activities are undertaken within the control and compliance framework and build competency to enable effective desk coverage for both Oil and Gas to allow marketers flexibility to visit customers and attend hosting events / conferences.
Participate in marketing analysis to help inform decision-making and deal structuring through thoughtful and constructive business recommendations to the SSSO leadership team.
Participate in project work undertaken by the team to complete the marketing strategy and achieve growth including continued marketing strategy development and work to implement customer hedging with downstream businesses
Lead development of regular marketing portfolio analysis, reporting and tools both directly for the team and in collaboration with SSSO commercial manager
This role will report directly to the Vice President of SSSO with performance and operational accountabilities.

Job Advert Key Accountabilities:

Commercial Support – provide support to Origination and Marketing efforts to expand existing and develop new relationships and trading opportunities through:
Market, pricing, and deal support including structure analysis and write-ups, model development, initial credit assessments, onboarding activities and customer presentations to enhance prospecting
Performance Management – work with the Commercial Manager to provide team performance data and assessment of portfolio, including development of various performance reports and commentary, assist with various adhoc requests and presentations, as well as quarterly performance review with Head of SSSO.
Daily Operations – Help drive continuous improvement and consistency in daily desk operations including critical end of day processes, and coordination of activities and best practices amongst other desk analysts and Commodity Risk:
Work with deal support / pricing models
Effective desk coverage including customer pricing and deal entry
Assist in pre-execution approval processes – NAI, Pricing (curve set-up), CDD, Credit, Contracts, Legal & Compliance
Essential Education:

Bachelor’s degree with 8 to 10+ years of relevant job experience
Essential Experience and Job Requirements:

Basic understanding of key commodity markets covered such as natural gas, natural gas liquids, power, oil, and oil products.
Basic understanding of vanilla structured products and how they can be combined with underlying commodities to manage price risk.
Understanding the various customer market segments we operate across, (primarily oil, Natural Gas, and NGLs as well as oil producers).
Basic knowledge of finance (discounted cash flow, time value of money concepts).
Strong understanding of Excel and other Office products.

Desirable Criteria:

Progress towards CFA or other advanced financial designation
Advanced understanding of structured products and how they are developed including index options, digitals, swaptions, etc.
Advanced understanding of key commodity markets including major pricing indexes, trading hubs and physical commodity flows.
Ability to understand and find value across key commodity markets through physical and financial structuring.
Understanding of the risk factors driving value across our customer business such as interest rate and foreign exchange risk, and the cost of doing business in terms of balance sheet management and working capital.
Understanding of bank / financing structures and contracts.
Project management experience.
Process improvement experience.
Advanced Excel / modelling skills including VBA, Business Objects, etc.
