The staff at The Bergens is committed to ensuring every child reaches their full potential. Differentiated instruction for our highest learners with ALP’s and students are able to focus their interests through Project Based Learning. Special Education and second language learners receive support from highly qualified staff on a daily basis. Data drives our instruction to meet the needs of each learner at all grades. Data collection begins as early as Preschool thru assessments in Kindergarten-5th grade: CogAT, Dibels, Math Expressions unit assessments, Amplify/TRC, MAP, Orton-Gillingham assessments, Writing assessments/rubrics/ECAW. CMAS testing 3rd thru 5th grades. We have a very active and supportive PTA at The Bergens. They have provided an outdoor learning dome for science and gardening along with a climbing wall, kilns at both buildings, musical instruments, heart monitors for PE, playground equipment and classroom materials. The Smartboards, chromebooks, iPads, laptops and supporting software are completely funded by this organization, as well. Our students use technology throughout the day to enrich their learning experiences in all areas. The community of support for all learners extends beyond the classroom.


Teachers at The Bergens, are highly qualified; 90% hold masters’ degrees and hold a GT endorsement and/or an ESL endorsement. Teachers demonstrate skills and strategies that support student growth through transforming the task, engaging students in their learning, and providing differentiated instruction.

Teacher Elementary Annual Position FLSA: Exempt FTE: 1.00000 , Hours/Day: 8.000 , Days/Year: 185 Salary Plan, Grade, Step: JCE – Professional – 185 days , L01, 1 Min-Mid Annual Salary Range: $43,274.00 – $60,868.50 Effective as of: 08-16-2021
**Annual salary noted above is based on an 8 hour day and full days worked calendar. Any position that is less than a full FTE/8 hours per day or late start will be prorated accordingly.
Certain Education Support Professional (ESP) jobs may include the value of holiday pay into the hourly rate. Review the Holiday in Rate column of the Education Support Professional Job Title, Wage Plan, Grade document.


SUMMARY: Responsible for instructing students in an elementary grades K-6. Creates lesson plans, instructs students on core subjects such as science, literature, and math, and creates a well-rounded, comprehensive instructional preparedness based on the District’s Core Curriculum. Create instructional resources for use in the classroom. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities. Create positive educational climate for students to learn in. Meet course and school-wide student performance goals. Participate in ongoing training sessions. Create lesson plans and modify accordingly throughout the year. Grade papers and perform other administrative duties as needed. Read and stay abreast of current topics in education. Utilize various curriculum resources and technologies to enhance student learning. Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans. Utilize District curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served. Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities. Prepare and distribute parent communications. Observe and evaluate student’s performance. Manage student behavior in the classroom creating appropriate behavior strategies.
